Betanit is pleased to announce the publication of a recent interview with architect John Hertz in Eureka magazine, published by the Environmental Conditioning Laboratory of the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism at Universidad Ricardo Palma in Lima, Peru.
The Importance of Designing with Natural Light, Universidad Ricardo Palma of Lima Interviews Arch. John Hertz with the Heliodon Orchard by Betanit.
The interview, conducted in front of our Heliodon Orchard, explores the strategic role of natural light in architectural and bio-environmental design processes. Architect Hertz emphasizes that, despite advancements in digital simulation, the use of physical tools for solar analysis remains essential to intuitively and accurately understand the interaction between light, space, and environmental comfort.
Nitter-Beta Nit continues its commitment to promoting a conscious design culture, developing advanced solutions for solar analysis, physical modeling, and the optimization of natural light in architectural spaces.
We express our sincere gratitude to the Laboratorio de Acondicionamiento Ambiental at FAU-URP for the quality of their work and their collaboration in promoting a design approach focused on sustainability and environmental well-being.
Architect John B. Hertz, guest professor at Universidad Ricardo Palma (Lima), is a specialist in bioclimatic architecture, resilience, and sustainability. With over 45 years of experience, he has taught courses at URP on bioclimatic design, thermal conditioning and lighting based on the EM 110 standard, and has published studies in 2017 and 2022 on architectural resilience to climate change in Peru.
He has also participated in international seminars and conferences on bioarchitecture and eco-efficiency, contributing to research on housing design in Amazonian tropical environments.
