Pro Orange Heliodon

The new Pro Orange Heliodon is the fourth generation of automatic heliodon.

The heliodon is a cheap advanced product able to position a scale model in every time and location.

The Beta Nit Pro Orange Heliodon is completely programmable through a serial terminal directly from Windows, Mac, Linux, DOS and other software platforms with USB or serial port.

The Pro Orange Heliodon contains: a robotic table, a support platform (55in. diameter) for the scale model, an halogen Fresnel light source (1kW), a mirror and two stabilizers.

Product Details

  • High precision positioning. The tollerance is lower then 1 degree.
Compact for every space

Also this heliodon shares with the heliodons of the Orange family the compactness when it works. It is possible to install the automatic Pro Orange heliodon in every room (the minimum dimension of the required by the heliodon with the mirror are: 13ft. x 13ft. x 9ft.). This heliodon is the optimal solution for small research laboratory, higher school and AEC (architectural and engineering firm).

Fast and agile

The Orange Heliodon starts in less than 10 seconds. The halogen light source and the real-time control system don't require start-up time, thus you can check immediately your ideas on the scale model.

Low power

Thanks to the fast start-up time, the Orange Pro Heliodon can be turned on every time you need to check your tought about sunshading. Further the independent power of the light source allows to turn on the light only when you need it. The power consumption of the Beta Nit automatic heliodon, is similar to that of a vaccum cleaner.

Without maintenance

The maintenance of the Beta Nit Pro Orange Heliodon is limited to the substitution of the halogne lamp and to the cleaning of the device. 

High brightness for easy shooting

The heliodon of Beta Nit is designed to garantee on the scale model an illuminance level of more than 650lx. The high uniformity of the illumination increases the quality of the video or photo shoots.

Transportable

Thanks to its compact dimensions, low weight, modularity and the wheels, the innovative automatic heliodon (Pro Orange) can be simply moved around the lab or the office. Its maximum width is less than 26in. (65cm). The weight is less than 110kg.

Strong

The Beta Nit heliodon of the Orange family are realized with machined stainless steel. All mechanical, electric and electronic parts are studied for long duration (not less than 10 years).

Colorful

You can use our Orange Heliodon in office and laboratory. In the contemporary office studio, our heliodon has powerful colors, it stands out in the contemporary office studio. On request, we can make the heliodon with the colors you prefer. In our standard Pro Orange Heliodon, we use gray and black for the device, some details are violet, instead of the important small details are yellow

Safe

The control unit of the Orange Pro Heliodon has a 8bit processor of the last generation with a real-time firmware. It is able to control the table position and the state of the sensors.

Noiseless

The heliodon has two step motor and a heavy steel structure to reduce any kind of vibrations. The Pro Orange Heliodon can be put inside an office environment.

Compatible

The automatic heliodon of Beta Nit has on-board processor and can be controlled with a simple and short programming language.

You can control the Beta Nit Heliodon from any computer with a USB or serial port. You can control and use the heliodon from any kind os operating system (i.e. MS-Dos, Windows 95, Windows 97, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows NT, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Mac-OS pre 9, Mac OS X, Linux and all the unix variants) and from any programming language able to dialogue with the serial port.

Programmable

The provided freeware softwares show how it is simple to control the heliodon from the Python and C language. On request is available also a graphic user interface.

Upgradable

The Pro Orange Heliodon firmware can be upgraded from the serial port, thus the user can be download from our site the last version and upgrade the firmware himself.

The automatized heliodon Pro Orange is able to position automatically the model scale on the robotic platform. The scale model is lighted with an alogen Fresnel light source at around 20 foot. The geometrical error is less than 20-25% and the step between shadow and light is fast.

Perché fare una simulazione su di un plastico invece che con un software?

Sono molteplici le ragioni:

  • la simulazione su di un plastico fisico ha un accuratezza costante che non dipende dalla complessità del materiale o della geometria;
  • i punti di vista non sono predeterminati ed è rapido e facile cambiarlo come lo spostamento della propria testa;
  • si possono simulare materiali nuovi di cui non esiste un modello matematico affidabile o pubblico;
  • si può usare il plastico in scala per diverse scopi: simulazioni di luce naturale, visualizzazione con foto e videocamera, come strumento di dialogo con il cliente, simulazioni di fluidodinamica;
  • il plastico è  tangibile pertanto più facile dimostrare il lavoro fatto e i risultati conseguiti.

 

Costa di più un heliodon o un software?

A fronte di un costo di acquisto maggiore, un heliodon conserva inalterato il suo valore, a differenza del software che in 2/3 anni non ha più alcun valore reale e contabile.

Inoltre il costo di aggiornamento dell'heliodon è nullo, mentre quello del software è molto più alto per il rinnovo della licenza d'uso (spesso annuale), per l'aggiornamento del computer sul quale gira, per la necessità dell'utente di apprendere nuove procedure e nuove prassi d'uso a seguito dell'aggiornamento del software, ma anche dell'hardware. Per esempio si pensi quando ad un aggiornamento ci impone di cambiare hardware e il nuovo hardware viene venduto solo con una nuova versione di sistema operativo (per es. il passaggio da windows XP a windows Vista) che risulta incompatibile con alcune vecchie periferiche che usiamo.
